Pedigrees
The Club will provide a pedigree for each SC, and also for pups and imported dogs.
The Club will also issue individual tattoo numbers for each dog and litter.

Our genealogy database goes back to 1929. Our computer database should be
able to source 10-30 generations for your dog. We also will take care of obtaining
international pedigree papers from FCI or (soon) AKC.

A quarterly published magazine for members of the club.
Clubwear: T-shirt, Sweat Shirt, Baseball Caps, Jackets embroidered with the  Club
emblem.

How to get a Slovensky Cuvac (SC)

Every week there are questions about how to get a SC.
Because there will not be one litter in 2008 (that we know), we visited breeders in
Slovakia asking about importing SC to the USA.

It is more expensive to import a SC to the USA, but in this way we can improve future
breeding stock.

We are looking for good females for the future breeding, who have the chance to
live with great people/families.

Two old friends in the Czech Republic and Slovakia who were breeders for 40 years
will be helpful to take contact with breeders who have pups for sale.
These friends will select good, healthy pups with FCI papers and organize shipping.

I like to work with Animals First in Austria through Mr. Herman Berger. He is a really
nice guy and can be trusted absolutely. If you prefer someone else, this is not a
problem. But Mr. Berger/Animals First has a proven record.

The rate for sending a puppy from Vienna to Chicago/Houston or elsewhere in the
USA is around $ 650 (including the kennel and paperwork).
Airticket to Vienna around 750$- to Frankfurt Euro 512,00 and than going by car to
Vienna-Slovakia.
Everywhere on the world where Sc are bred are special bloodlines and we have to
look to find the right dog for you.

Of greatest importance is the bloodline and type.  
Use of an established, reputable kennel will assure you a healthy puppy that has
been socialised !

When you (or me, for you) select your pup, there is no iron guarantee of adult
health and breeding quality.

In the pedigrees you should look for 4-5 generations with X-Ray 0-0, but due to the
vagaries of genetics it is possible your puppy could later develop X-Ray 1-1 or 2-2

You will never receive permission to breed from the SC Club, AKC, FCI or OFA, if
your SC has X-Ray 3-3 or worse!

Several people have asked for a female and a male. Please think about: a male
living with a female. Females go into heat twice a year, which causes attendant
problems with the male for several weeks: He will try to come to the female: He will
sing for several days; and may not eat for weeks and lose weight. It is so easy to
have an accident and have unplanned pups.

Be careful when you have a M/F pair.

We have at this time 5 wonderful males for breeding in the States and two additional
males are en route.  If you are thinking of more than one SC, consider two females.
Surely, two dogs together are happier than one. The Club will arrange a visitation
with one of the males, or artificial insemination.

We have started to create Club wear outfits.

We have designed nice high quality T-Shirts for ladies with the embroidered
Slovensky Tchouvatch and also a cheaper version T-Shirt with Silkscreenprinted
Slovensky Cuvac.

The Silkscreen modell has a writting " Slovensky Cuvac" and the embroidered Club
name.
A jacket will be available with the same embroidery only much more bigger over the
back. Additionally the right arm will have flag of United States/Slovakia, and on the
left arm your name or kennel. The typical American Club jacket - Blouson in red
ready made for you is 90$ with all embroidery. Each one will be made after ordering.

Colors are fitting to the flags of the United States and Slovakia. (blue-red-white)

A baseball cap will complete the Club collection.The prices are reasonable

Club Information
The "Slovensky Tchouvatch Dog Club
of America" established in 1982 by Dr.
J. Schoen in MA/USA. The Club exists
as a means  to protect the breeding of  
purebreed "Slovensky Cuvac" and to
bring their natural qualities to perfection.
The S.T.D.O.C.A is the parentclub for
the breed FCI 142 in United States.

"Slovensky Cuvac Paw" is the offical
publication of the S.T.D.C.O.A. and will
be published twice a year. (As mail to
all members)
